Jedna z nejvýraznějších heavy metalových kapel devadesátých let. Je typickým reprezentantem tzv. groove metalu, stylu odvozeného z trash metalu, který se často označuje též termíny post-trash nebo neo-trash. Zřejmě nejslavnější deska souboru Far Beyond Driven vyšla původně v roce 1994. V Americe se dostala až na vrchol hitparády a stala se prvním extrémně metalovým albem na prvním místě Top 100. Dodnes je považována za jedno z nejextrémnějších alb hudební historie.Reinventing the Steel je deváté a zároveň poslední album americké metalové kapely Pantera vydáné v roce 2000. Na albu hostuje Kerry King ze skupiny Slayer a je na něm také cover pisně Hole In The Sky od Black Sabbath. V stejné době kapela nahrála písně také Avoid the Light (pro film Dracula 2000 či Heavy Metal 200) a Immortaly Insane pro film Texaský masakr motorovou pilou, které najdete mezi bonusy této výroční reedice.
