Kniha zachycující příběh pozoruhodného projektu sochaře a kováře Petra Císařovského, sestává ze dvou částí. br Iniciační projekt, nazvaný Sedm bran se odvíjí od počátku 90. let minulého století a základem se stala realizace brány sv. Františka, která symbolicky otevírá nejen františkánský areál uprostřed Prahy, ale i duchovní centrum města, založené císařem Karlem IV. Během času přibyla v protilehlém koutě zahrady brána sv. Anežky České. Vznikla tak díla výtvarně a ideově navázaná na genia loci daného místa. V průběhu let se zrodil nápad na vymezení celého prostoru zahrady. Výsledkem se stal projekt, který symbolicky navazuje na snahu Karla IV. vytvořit v daném místě novou korunovační katedrálu, ze zahrady by tak vznikl Chrám pod širým nebem. V první části knihy autor blíže seznamuje s realizacemi svých bran i mimo tento projekt. br Tvorba sochaře a kováře Petra Císařovského (* 1950) představuje unikátní syntézu sochařského citu a dokonale zvládnutého řemesla. V oblasti kované plastiky se řadí k našim nejvýraznějším tvůrcům; dokáže propojit tradiční postupy zpracování železa se současným pohledem na svět. Jeho díla nesou silný duchovní náboj a tichou reflexi lidského bytí.brbr The Seven Gates of Petr Císařovský br The present book, presenting the story of this fascinating project by sculptor and blacksmith Petr Císařovský, is composed of two parts. The initiatory project, entitled Seven Gates” (Sedm bran) began to emerge from the start of the 1990s, originating from the realization of the St. Francis Gate - symbolically opening not only the Franciscan monastic complex in the historic core of Prague, but equally a spiritual centre of the city itself, founded by Emperor Charles IV. Later, in the opposite corner of the garden, another gate was raised, the St. Agnes of Bohemia Gate, resulting in two works that form both artistic and intellectual links to the genius loci of the given site. br Over time, the idea emerged of outlining the entire space of the garden. The result became a project making symbolic reference to the medieval plans of Charles IV to raise a new coronation cathedral on the site; the contemporary intervention, in turn, transforming the garden into a sacred space in the open air”. In the first part of the book, the author presents in greater detail the realizations of his gates not connected to the central project. br The work of sculptor and artistic blacksmith Petr Císařovský (* 1950) represents a unique synthesis of refined sculptural sensibility with exceptional skill in craftsmanship. In the area of wrought-iron sculpture, he ranks among the most prominent Czech creators, able to combine traditional metalworking procedures with a contemporary view of the world. His artworks are the bearers of a strong spiritual charge and a quiet reflection of human existence.
