The book is the English edition of the pioneering empirical study on mystical experience by the German mystic and psychotherapist Carl Albrecht (1902-1965). Whereas other studies on mysticism have to rely on subjective accounts retrieved from memory, Albrecht's studies are based on live recordings of locutions and are therefore untainted by post-experiential interpretation. This thought-provoking book promises illuminating reading and is likely to advance cross-cultural discourse while providing a challenge to philosophy and theology by its inherent eschatological promise.Carl ALBRECHT (1902-1965) was a German medical doctor, psychotherapist and mystic.
