Rural communities are facing increasing and contrasting problems, with high levels of unemployment or conflict arising from suburbanisation and the arrival of newcomers. This book provides a strategic framework for dealing with these issues, with an innovative model for planning and practising rural community work. It is relevant to work in all types of areas, and for a wide range of agencies, identifying key management and evaluating tasks. Important connections are made between existing knowledge and the worker's own experiences. Concluding with a review of policies, this is an invaluable guide for rural community work students and professionals.
